If you are serious about cruising up or down the coast this is a boat you should be looking at. Two staterooms each with ensuite heads, NAIAD stabilizers, bow-thruster, watermaker, canister life-raft, Sea-Chest for mains, AC units & generator. Upgraded FURUNO electronics with AIS & Weather, Barrett Flybridge Enclosure.  Just out of the yard for fresh bottom paint, props balanced & tuned. Every aspect of this boat shows pride of ownership by a knowledgeable owner.

The 49' DeFever Cockpit Motor Yacht is not your typical sundeck trawler with an elevated cabin top over the aft stateroom. Rather the 49 is a rare flushdeck yacht with single-level walk around decks - an eminently practical design that results in an attractive profile as well as generally improved accessibility. The DeFever 49 is a heavy boat for her size, and her full-displacement hull delivers a notably comfortable ride in an offshore chop. Below decks, her two-stateroom interior is arranged with the galley aft in the salon, which makes it convenient to the aft deck. Visibility from the lower helm is excellent and port and starboard doors forward in the salon provide easy access to the side decks. The aft stateroom is huge with tremendous storage and space. A great and welcome feature of the DeFever 49 is her walk-in engine room with its easy access and near standing headroom. Additional features include a full rich teak interior, teak and holly sole, wide side-decks, radar arch, hardtop and transom door. (The Powerboat Guide).

History of the Designer

The 49’ DeFever Cockpit Motor Yacht was designed by the world renowned naval architect Arthur DeFever N.A. who has been designing cruising and commercial yachts since the early 1950’s. In the early 1960’s Art DeFever joined the Offshore Cruising Society. At the time, long-range cruising in private yachts was virtually always done in sailboats. His friends suggested that he design a seaworthy cruising powerboat that would have sufficient range to make the long runs up and down the Pacific coast into Mexico or Alaska. Beloved for their traditional lines and sturdy construction, DeFever vessels are known worldwide — and are owned by everyday cruisers and royalty alike.
